Frequently Asked Questions
FOR PHOTO/DRESS REHEARSAL DAYS (MAY 28-30)
What should my dancer wear for Photo/Dress Rehearsal Day at Inspire?
Dancers should arrive for Photo/Dress Rehearsal Day in full costume, with assigned Showcase hairstyle. Makeup is not required for photos (a little bit of makeup is fine, if you prefer your dancer to wear it. No red lip for photos, please).
Will I be able to come into the room when the professional photos are taken?
In an effort to minimize distractions and keep the photo process running smoothly, parents are not permitted in the room where professional photos are being taken.
Can I take photos and videos at Dress Rehearsal?
Absolutely! After they have their photos taken, dancers will rehearse their dance in costume. You are welcome to take as many photos/videos as you would like during that performance.
Can my family come to watch the Dress Rehearsal?
Each dancer should only bring one adult to Photo Day/Dress Rehearsal, as space will be limited.
FOR SHOWCASE DAY (JUNE 3, 4, 5, 10)
How long does it take to get to IKEA Performing Arts Center?
IKEA Performing Arts Center is approximately 25 minutes from Inspire in normal traffic. Please plan to leave with plenty of extra time, as travel delays are always possible, especially during peak traffic hours. See Venue Details for directions, more information about the venue and parking.
When should my dancer arrive for their Showcase performance?
On Showcase day, dancers should arrive at IKEA Performing Arts Center, ready to go, 15-20 minutes prior to their performance. They will go straight backstage with a Showcase Volunteer or Inspire teacher.
What should my dancer bring backstage?
Dancers should not bring anything backstage with them unless they are in more than one dance. This includes street shoes: make sure to wear your dance shoes backstage! Dancers who are in more than one dance should make sure everything they bring backstage is labeled with their name: costume, shoes, accessories, etc.
Can I line up at the theater early to make sure I get a good seat?
Theater doors will open 30 minutes prior to the start of the show. PLEASE do not arrive more than 30 minutes before your show, as we are running back to back performances.
Can I sit anywhere I want in the theater?
Seating is not assigned, so you are able to sit in any available seat in the theater. Please, no seat saving beyond the seat you save for your dancer (if applicable). This is a small theater with fantastic visibility in all sections.
Will my dancer sit with me during the performance?
Upon arrival, all dancers will go backstage to wait for the show to start.
You should save a seat in the theater for your dancer if they are in any of the following younger classes: Mini Movers, Mini Groovers, Ballet/Tap, Princess Ballerina, Hip Hop/Flip Flop, Combo 1. These dancers will be released into the theater to sit with their family directly following their performance. These dancers do NOT need a ticket.
Older dancers in the following classes will stay backstage for the entirety of the show: Combo 2/3, all Grades 1-3 Classes, all Grades 4-6 Classes, all Teen Classes, all Gemstone Classes.
Can I take photos/video during my dancer's performance?
There will be a professional videographer on the day of the show. Because of this, we ask that NO video be taken during Showcase performances. You do not need to order a video - the fee was included in your Showcase fee, so all participating families will receive a copy of the Showcase video.
Photos ARE allowed. No flash photography please, for the safety of the dancers.
What if I forget my tickets?
All audience members must have a ticket to enter the theater. If you forget your ticket, please touch base with our front desk staff at the ticket booth when you arrive to the theater.
Is there accessible seating?
Accessible (handicap) seating is available in the theater, and we are happy to accommodate. If you are able to let us know in advance that you will need accessible seating, we truly appreciate it - it helps us plan ahead and have everything ready to best support your needs.
